He was born in 1960 in Türkoğlu, Kahramanmaraş. He graduated from Türkoğlu High School in 1978. He graduated from Ankara University (Justice High School) in 1982. He graduated from ITU Department of Metallurgical Engineering in 1986. He did his Master of Philosophy in 1988 at Birmingham University, England in the field of Aircraft Building and Materials. He did his Doctorate in 1991 at Birmingham University, England in the field of Aircraft Building and Materials. He was assigned Assistant Professor to ITU Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 1992. He became an Associate Professor in Department of Aircraft Construction in 1993. He served as a Lecturer at ITU and Air Force Academy in 1992-1996. He acted as a manager in Private Sector and continued to serve as a Part-Time Lecturer in 1996 – 1999. He served in Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Department of Transportation in 1999 – 2005. He acted as the Assistant Secretary General in Charge of Transportation at Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality in 2005 – 2007. In 2007, he left Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and went into Private Sector once again. Upon the invitation of Yalova University, he returned to University in 2010. At Yalova University, he founded Turkey’s first Department of Transportation Engineering and acted as the following: Principal of Çınarcık Vocational High School, Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Member of the University Administrative Committee, Member of the University Senate, Vice Chancellor, and Deputy Chancellor. He still acts as the Head of Department of Transportation Engineering at Yalova University.
