Yunus Emre Ayözen Dr.

Head of Strategy Development in Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure

He was born in Edirne in 1986. Having finished his primary education in Edirne, and later his secondary education in Istanbul, he graduated from Sakarya University, Department of Civil Engineering. He received his master’s degree at Istanbul Technical University, Department of Transportation Engineering, and then finished the doctorate program at Istanbul Aydın University, Department of Civil Engineering.

Between 2008-2015, he served under the Highway Projects, Rail System Projects, and Transportation Master Plan units at Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Directorate of Transportation Planning, respectively as the supervising engineer, chief, and deputy director, and later, he was appointed to the Directorate of Traffic in April, 2015. He was appointed as the Head of Transportation Department on 23 May 2016, and continued to work in this position until 25 July 2019.

Between 2015-2019, he was a Member of the Executive Board at Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Kiptaş A.Ş., and acted as the Deputy Chairman.

Between 19.09.2019-06.07.2020, he served as the Deputy Director at the General Directorate of State Airports Authority; and between 04.05.2020-02.07.2021, he served as the Member its Executive Board.

He took part actively in the Istanbul Transportation Master Plan, Istanbul Logistics Master Plan and Istanbul Logistics Management System, Istanbul Urban Air Transport (Heliport) Master Plan, Traffic Safety Master Plan.

He contributed to the implementation of numerous Mega Transportation Projects such as Highway and Rail System Projects, and Airport and Smart Transportation Systems.

To this day, he continues his duty at the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure as the Head of Strategy Development, where he was appointed by the Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette dated 06.07.2020.

Ayözen, who is able to speak English, is married with one child.
